The most important relationships in a child’s life are with his or her primary caregivers. Every child deserves to be in safe, stable, nurturing, relationships and environments. Yet, data shows significant challenges in availability, quality, and cost of child care throughout Pierce County. Project Child Success partners are actively working to raise awareness about these issues and design solutions.
Ensuring High Quality Care
Early Achievers is Washington’s Quality Rating and Improvement System, which gives child care providers training, technical assistance, coaching, quality improvement awards, scholarships, and other benefits. If also provides families with program quality information and standards, so they can make informed choices. Beginning in July 2016, providers taking Working Connections child care subsidies are required to participate in Early Achievers. As of the end of 2015, 41% of licensed child care providers in Pierce County were enrolled. Watch the video below to learn more.
